Accuracy of Prediction of Heat Capacity (Home)

The heat capacity, Cp, of gas-phase systems can be predicted using the calculated vibrational frequencies and moments of inertia and the translational contributions. For monatomic species, only translational contributions were used. The heat capacity at constant volume, Cv, can be derived from Cv = Cp - R, where R=1.987 calories. All reference data is taken from the Handbook of Chemistry and Physics.
